The Business:

Founded in 1997, ACS-CEM Inc., is an environmental consulting and project management firm providing hazardous waste, NYSDEC Brownfield Clean-up and demolition project management services. ACS-CEM Inc. also provides initial property evaluations including Phase I and Phase II site assessments, asbestos/lead/PCB inspections and site monitoring. We help companies manage their waste streams for proper disposal or recycling. ACS-CEM INC. also works with clients to identify and select the proper supplies, PPE and equipment needed to perform their project.

The company combines these areas of expertise in projects and self performs the majority of the work, giving the customer the advantage of dealing with a single source to manage and resolve environmental and construction issues in a cost-effective manner.

Management:

The senior management personnel of the company have extensive experience in the environmental industry dating back to 1988. Raj Chopra, President, has worked in the environmental industry since the mid-1980’s, beginning his career as Vice President of Chopra-Lee, Inc., (CLI) a full service, cutting edge environmental laboratory and consulting firm. As an instrumental partner in the development and daily operations of CLI, Raj branched off to establish CEM, Inc. in 1998. Raj has been involved in most of the high-profile demolition and remediation projects in WNY over the past 30 years.

Health & Safety:

ACS-CEM Inc. has a comprehensive Health and Safety program in compliance with OSHA HAZWOPER standard 29 CFR 1910.120 and Asbestos 29 CFR 1926.1101 standards. Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is 1.0 (see enclosed). The program is monitored, reviewed and kept current by Certified Industrial Hygienist. CEM’s goal is Zero Accidents and Zero Incidences.
